Christmas for Kids

“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.” ~ Ruth Carter Stapleton

As we begin our preparations for this Christmas season, we ask you to consider how you can make a difference to a family in need this year. Christmas for Kids at the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank  has been providing Christmas hampers and gifts to low-income working families in Cambridge since 2001. With your support at Christmas, we will be able to help over 900 children receive gifts and/or food that provides relief from everyday challenges.

How you can help!

 Sponsor a Family:

Ask your family, friends, and co-workers to join you.  We will provide you with a profile of a family and a special wish list to help you personalize the experience.  It’s a fun and rewarding way to experience the joy of giving. It’s up to you to decide what you would like to contribute and purchase.

Your gifts will be delivered to the family in time for the holidays.

Gift Donation:

Perhaps you would like to drop off an unwrapped gift or toy at the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank for a child between the ages of 0-8 years. Purchase a new unwrapped toy for a special little someone today.

Tweens and Teens

Tweens and Teens are still kids at heart and we have not forgotten them.  This age group receives a Christmas stocking and a gift card to the value of $25.00.  We are in need of gift cards from the mall,  HMV, Galaxy theatres, etc. in the amount of $25.00 for our Teen and Tweens

Cash Donations:

Many families don’t get a sponsor and we also welcome cash donations to buy coats, boots, books, toys, and other items for these families. You can send a donation to:

54 Ainslie St. South, Cambridge On   N1R 3H3 or call Ellen at 519-622-6550 ext. 103 to make a donation on your credit card

Christmas Food Hamper:

Each family receives a special Christmas Food Hamper containing a Turkey, potatoes, canned vegetables and fruit, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, apple juice, and cookies

Reverse Advent Calendar:

Start a new tradition this year with your family…unlike a normal advent calendar, which is all about receiving a small treat everyday until Christmas, this Reverse Advent Calendar is about giving a small item each day until you have a box of much needed food items which can be donated to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank on December 23, 2016

We work in co-operation with the Cambridge Fire Fighters Christmas Basket Fund and the Salvation Army of Cambridge with one master list to ensure that we can help as many families as possible in our community.
