BROWN BAG LUNCH EVENT
On June 1st, 2010 we encourage all residents of Cambridge to Brown Bag it
and to donate their lunch money
for that day to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank.
NATIONAL HUNGER DAY - JUNE 1, 2010
The Brown Bag lunch is a signature campaign of the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank to draw attention of the public to National Hunger Awareness Day.
The event began in 2008 as a initiative of the Fundreaising Committee and was designed to build a discretionary fund which would assist CSHFB in providing for such items as emergency dental service for children of our clients who are unable to afford these necessities.
Everyone can play a part in reducing hunger.
People can volunteer at the Food Bank, donate food and funds, join local
National Hunger Awareness Day
activities and events, and spread the word in their workplaces, faith groups and schools.
We are very grateful for the support received through the Brown Bag Lunch Event in 2009;
The Brown Bag Lunch event raised $25,400.00 in 2009
